October 2, 2007 CBS Soaps In Depth Crowd Pleaser No one loves a show's characters more than soap opera fans--something that Tammy Lauren (Maggie) has been finding out since she began her stint on Y&R. "It cracks me up when I get fan mail wanting me to relay some information to Doug [Davidson]--or rather, his character, Paul," she shares with a grin. "They're like, 'I wrote to Paul' or 'I sent something to Paul and he hasn't written me back yet. Can you ask Paul to write me back, Maggie?' I find it really funny that they're taking Paul to task through my character!" Of course, Lauren has gotten viewers who love Maggie for her own sake. "A woman screamed in my face once and that was a little startling, I must say," chuckles the former child star. "But it's fun meeting people." And the actress has noticed the difference between the fans she has collected on Y&R versus the ones she's met while working on movies or primetime. "With movies, you get a lot of people looking at you, but they don't come over. With primetime, they come over and stand about a [foot] away to talk to you," she explains. "But with soaps, they come over and give you a hug. It's great!"
