Just Asking
Kate Linder (Esther, Y&R)
My first celebrity crush: Billy Dee Williams.
Earliest childhood memory: Tap dancing at the L.A. County Fair.
Fear I wold like to conquer: Aging.
Most embarrassing moment: I lost my voice right before going on in the role of the nurse in Romeo and Juliet after spending months working on the role.
If I weren't an actress, I'd be: I've wanted to be an actress since I was a little girl. There isn't anything else I would like to be.
Biggest mistake I ever made: Going to school at San Francisco State instead of UCLA (which I was accepted to) or studying in New York.
Something you'd be surprised to know about me: I worked in the glove department in a department store.
Question most often asked of me: "Why do you still fly [as a flight attendant]?" It used to be, "Where is your [onscreen] daughter?" But fortunately, my daughter (Chloe) is finally back.
Question I wish someone would ask me: Dancing with the Stars asking me if I would like to do the show.
Strangest fan encounter: A couple on an airplane. The husband said he would pay me $50 to tell his wife that I wasn't Esther. He bet her $100 that it wasn't me. Obviously, he lost!
I would like to swap lives with: The individual that finds a cure for ALS.
One thing I want to do before I die: Perform on Broadway.
Most fascinating person I ever met was: President Bill Clinton.
Famous event I would like to have witnessed: Landing on the moon.
Person on my show I'd call if I needed bail money: Jeanne Cooper (Katherine). Also, Jess Walton would help me, but Jill definitely would not.
My epitaph: "She never gave up."
