June 23, 2008 CBS Soaps In Depth
Will Y&R's fans ever learn who killed Jill's beloved Ji Min?
He wasn't on the canvas all that long, but the character of Ji Min made an impact as Jack's cohort and Jill's lover. The character mysteriously died last September, but so far, there's been no resolution to his death. Was it murder most foul? Or will Y&R's new writing regime reveal that it was an accident so that the guilty party won't have to go to jail?
One thing's for sure: Y&R will eventually address how the executive died!
"[Viewers] are definitely going to see a resolution to that storyline," headwriter Maria Arena Bell shared with Soaps In Depth in a recent interview. Even though his character, Jack, is a suspect, Peter Bergman applauds the soap for making plans to give the story a conclusion. "Fans do remember when something's not resolved," he says. "[The show] has to come to terms with the fact that Ji Min was killed by someone who was in Genoa City."
While Victor's been cleared of the killing, other suspects include:
Jack: The businessman feared Ji Min would expose their behind-the-scenes machinations. But is that enough motivation to commit the ultimate crime?
Katherine: She opposed daughter Jill's union with Ji Min. Could she have killed him or had him done away with to avoid gaining a son-in-law?
Jeff: Will's twin was in the room next to Ji Min's at the GCAC and has a Korean mistress. But having opportunity alone doesn't mean that Jeff had a motive.
Zapato or Fisher: Hair that could be connected to either dog was found on Ji Min. Are those doggies truly "man's best friend"? Hmm...
