Even though the role of Alistair didn't last long for Jerry Douglas (ex-John), he says that he enjoyed playing the bumbling out-of-work actor and flexing his comedic muscles alongside Peter Bergman (Jack). "Peter is a he** of a good comic actor," he praises. "People don't know that because they're so used to seeing him doing heavy, intense, dramatic scenes. But Peter is a stage actor who came from New York like I did. And because of that, he can stretch." Indeed, Douglas says that he only had to mention another comic genius to get the reaction he needed from his on-screen son. "I always said, 'Give me a Jack Benny reaction,' and he does a Jack Benny reaction," he chuckles. "Peter is great. He's a very versatile actor."
