Of course, soap actors who spend their free time guest-starring on primetime or in movies get a financial reward. But Y&R's Greg Rikaart (Kevin), who has popped up on THE Cmeany as well as the Web series IMAGINARY *ITCHES, insists that the emotional payoff one gets for doing extracurricular work is priceless. "It really lights a fire under your butt and leaves you feeling rejuvenated," he shares. It also is challenging, adds the Emmy winner, because it forces you to step outside your comfort zone. "My comfort zone is actually drama, which means I should explore comedy. I would love to do a guest role on a sitcom. And doing a Broadway show is definitely on my list of goals to accomplish," grins Rikaart. "When I get up in front of a class, I get a little anxious. So being before a live audience would be the same thing. The fear comes from not having much experience doing it, except for doing plays when I was a kid. So that's definitely on the agenda. It would be good to stretch myself as an actor, and it's always important to conquer fear rather than run away from it."
