In her spare time, Nia Peeples (Karen) has begun putting her thoughts regarding her life and career on paper. "I don't know if I'd call it an autobiography," says the showbiz vet. "It's more inspirational." The idea came to her after she was approached to become a spokesperson for a variety of projects. "For years, I've had people say to me, 'Oh, you have to have your own skincare line, your own haircare line, workout video, blah, blah, blah. Then I realized that the thing that ties this all together is really about inspiring people to be the best of who they are. So the book is really about that, about using some of my experiences in Hollywood and trying to find my own identity." It will also include the relief work she did after the tsunami hit Indonesia a couple of years ago. "I was out on the Indian Ocean for a month, delivering goods to people. I look back and think, 'Were we insane?' because it was dangerous," she recalls with a laugh. "The Teutonic plate had shifted and everything had lurched up into the air. It was incredible, though. It really shed some light on the issues in my own life and kind of coincided with me finding my identity in Hollywood. It was a life-changing experience."
