America’s Next Top Model cycle 3-winner Eva Marcille (also known as Eva Pigford) is set to join the cast of The Young and the Restless on a permanent basis.
According to sources, Eva’s work on the Emmy-award winning soap impressed the writers so much they decided to develop her character for future storylines.
In June of this year, Eva arrived in fictional Genoa City as Tyra Hamilton, a single mother with a 12 year-old daughter named Ana. Tyra, (what an interesting name choice), is the aunt of Devon and secretly admires Neil Winters.
I’m not sure if you knew, but I had no idea the 5’ 6.5” model changed her last name. When asked why she now goes by her middle name Marcille and dropped Pigford, the actress said, “I wanted a fresh start.”
Apparently, this fresh start also included firing her management team of Benny Medina and Tyra Banks back in 2006. Ouch.
