Will "Bell" Ring Again For Christine?
Y&R's headwriter and co-executive producer, Maria Arena Bell, wants Lauralee Bell (ex-Christine) back in court as Genoa City's blonde legal eagle!
When Katherine's friends and family gathered together last month to pay their final respects, her former pal, Christine, was absent from the matriarch's funeral. The reason? Bell has been on extended leave from the top-rated soap while she raises her family and pursues other creative endeavors. But Y&R's top scribe and co-exec producer, Arena Bell--who just happens to be Bell's sister-in-law!--wants Christine to appear on the show sooner rather than later!
"One of these days, if I have anything to say about it, she's coming back," Arena Bell tells Soaps In Depth about her husband's sister. (Arena Bell is married to Bill Bell Jr., the president of the family's two companies, Bell Dramatic Serial Company and Bell-Phillip Television Productions, Inc.) "Lauralee's really enjoying her life right now. She's not thinking about it, but I think some time in the next calendar year, we'll see Christine."
In the meantime, Bell has a film set for release next summer: Scarlet Cross, a prequel to the 1969 cult classic Easy Rider, features the fan favorite as well as Y&R players Chris Engen (Adam) and Michael Nouri (ex-Elliot).
