NBC has officially greenlit another season of "Law & Order: SVU"—but it's still unclear if the show's lead actors will be back.
The network confirmed Tuesday that it had picked up producer thingy Wolf's "SVU" for its 11th season, an unsurprising development since NBC owns the "L&O" franchise and "SVU" is the network's top-rated drama.
"I'm thrilled that 'Law & Order: SVU' will be back for an 11th season," Mr. Wolf said.
But while Mr. Wolf's show will be back, NBC insiders said there's still no agreement for stars Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay to return.
Mr. Wolf has a history of not negotiating huge raises for talent on his shows and for looking down on actors who try to play hardball in contract disputes.
NBC's confirmation of the "SVU" deal still leaves uncertain the future of Mr. Wolf's original "Law & Order" and spinoff "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." The latter series airs first on USA Network.
