Somebody needs to remind the folks at Y&R that they aren't a typical soap. (And we mean that as a compliment!) What works on other shows won't necessarily fly on this one. A prime example? Adam gaslighting Ashley. This story would fit in perfectly well on most of daytime's other dramas, which sadly tend to emphasize plot over character. But Y&R is such a character-driven show that this trainwreck is making several Genoa City residents look dumb. Why would Victor balk, for even a moment, at the notion of Ashley moving in with Jack until the baby was born or the culprit captured? Why does Ashley not even suspect Adam? For that matter, why does Adam take so many foolish risks? Did it make sense for him to take the scrapbook to the hospital with nothing more than a cap and a bouquet of flowers to disguise himself? Let's wrap this puppy up and file it away with other failed attempts by Y&R to wander from the path that has kept it at the top
