Count Jeanne Cooper (Katherine) among the many Y&R fans who are thrilled to see Beth Maitland pop up every now and then to reprise the role of Traci Abbott. "[traci] ties the Abbott family back together," Cooper insists happily, noting that Maitland's on-screen persona has helped fill the void that was left in the core clan when patriarch John was killed off a few years ago.
"I'm watching her on the monitor [from my dressing room] and I said, 'She's like John!' Traci can get them all back together again! Beth brings a special quality to the show and always has." Cooper plans on sharing her appreciation of Traci (and Maitland) with headwriter/co-executive producer Maria Arena Bell. "Traci's great for the Abbotts," the showbiz vet says. When told that In Depth is also a fan of Maitland's, Cooper warmly replies, "Oh, good! I'm so glad it wasn't my imagination!"
