On Fox's "Kitchen Nightmares," celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay comes off as the No. 1 expert on making a restaurant succeed. But Ramsay has finally shuttered his real-life restaurant The Devonshire.
Ramsay was advised to file for bankruptcy in 2009 to get out from under the debt of some of his restaurants, but he invested his own funds instead to try to keep them afloat. The strategy wasn’t enough to save The Devonshire, which opened in 2007.
A spokesperson for Ramsay said in a statement, "The Devonshire pub has not been meeting our expectations for a while and we have taken the decision to close it while we consider future plans."
