TLC has ordered a series inspired by the online video and local news phenomena of showing surprise military homecomings. Hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus, viewers will watch as soldiers return home to the shock and delight of their loved ones (see sample video below). “Homecoming extends TLC’s focus on authentic and relatable life experiences," said Nancy Daniels, senior vp of production & development. "We look forward to honoring our service men and women, and celebrating in the unmatched moment when a they are reunited with their families." The network has ordered three hour-long episodes, to be produced by Authentic Entertainment, Inc. A premiere date has not been set. TLC has ordered several shows recently that appeal to America's heartland, with the upcoming debut of Sarah Palin's Alaska on Nov. 18, plus getting Brad Garrett's new funny kids show. Landing Cyrus as host will doubtless be a fine match for the show and he's well known to viewers through his years on Disney's Hannah Montana. The network has ordered three hour-long episodes of Homecoming, to be produced by Authentic Entertainment, Inc. A premiere date has not been set.
