Billy Warlock Joins Y&R
Look for another familiar face to turn up in Genoa City. Soap vet Billy Warlock (ex-Frankie, DAYS; ex-AJ, GH; ex-Ricky, CAPITOL) has been hired in the contract role of Jack's campaign manager. Warlock joins another soap vet--Vincent Irizarry, who plays David. "It's a smart move to bring them on," says an insider. "The show is in transition and both Vincent and Billy are sexy, viable leading men with big fan bases."
Warlock most recently appeared on DAYS, a stint that wrapped up in November 2006. The actor had been brought back in 2005, but his story never really got off the ground. Digest last caught up with Warlock in September 2006, when he and wife Julie Pinson (Billie, DAYS) appeared on SOAP TALK's special Hawaii edition. At the time, the actor talked about life as a soap-hopper. "I come and go a lot," he noted. "It's a great job, but the thing about soaps, and the reason I don't stick around for very long, is because it is what it is. Unless you're in a great story, it is just a job, and that's contrary to why I started this because I wanted to do different things. I never said bigger or better things because there's nothing bigger and better than daytime; it's just different. That's why I do a soap for a couple of years and then I run off for a handful of years, then I'll come back for a couple of years."
Pinson will be able to give her hubby some inside scoop about life on Y&R: She played Shiloh from January to May of 2004. "I loved it there," she told Digest at the time. "I would have been happy to be there for the next 25 years. If they had wanted to invest in my character, I wouldn't have gone anywhere. I would have been very happy to stay."
Warlock's first tape date was March 28. He will first air in May.
