Sharon Blamed For Dru's Accident On Y&R
As Genoa City mourns a missing Drucilla--who tumbled over a cliff during a scuffle between Phyllis and Sharon during a photo shoot--Sharon does her best to comfort Neil, who's been hitting the bottle again. However, when new pictures surface that make it appear as if Sharon pulled Dru over when she fell, Neil blames Sharon for the accident.
"It's just a mistake the way the photos look; it's taken out of context," sighs Sharon Case (Sharon). "Neil wasn't there; he didn't see it. All he sees is this photo and thinks it's her fault."
Still, "Sharon has some guilty feelings," notes Case. "When she talks to Brad about it, she does have a moment there where she thinks, 'Did I really do that?' But then she's like, 'No.' What happened was everyone slipped and fell at the same time and nobody pulled anyone down at any place. Sharon knows she didn't do anything wrong."
Unfortunately, her rival, Phyllis, is the only one who can vouch for her, "and she just keeps her mouth shut," says Case. "She was the witness; she can pipe up any time and say, 'I was there and that's not how it happened.' But of course, Phyllis doesn't say that [laughs]. She just lets Sharon take the blame from everyone. Phyllis yet again has something to hold over her."
Adding to Sharon's woes is Noah's negative reaction to her and Jack's engagement and her conflicted feelings for her fiancé--who wants to elope. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Sharon, J.T. presents Victoria with evidence that Brad and Sharon had an afair in New York. "It's kind of funny that in one case, Sharon is being affected because someone might say something," notes the actress. "But in the other case, the problem is Phyllis is keeping quiet. It's not good either way."
