Helping Hand
While there are those who believe that charity begins at home, Jeanne Cooper (Katherine) isn't one of them. In fact, the showbiz vet not only works tirelessly contributing her time to the Interval House, which helps abused women and children, and the self-explanatory Just Say No To Debt, she is a big fan of the fund-raising efforts of Lesli Kay (Felicia, B&B). "I think what Lesli is doing--helping a family each year--is wonderful," the actress raves. Indeed, last year Kay raised funds to pay off medical bills for the Solorzano family and vowed to help a family in need every year. "Lesli knew a teacher who had lost her husbnad, and offered to help her get out of $40,000 in debt," Cooper explains. "You can volunteer for big charitable causes, but Lesli made it very personal. And it's doable. I think the more you give to things like this, the more you get back, because it increases your self-worth, too. It's a win-win situation."
