June 7, 2007 issue Soap Opera Digest Insider
Including Joshua Morrow (Nick, Y&R) as one of the features in our Father's Day issue was a no-brainer. After all, the guy is a devoted dad both on screen and in his personal life (to sons Cooper and Crew) so I knew getting him to open up about his paternal role would be a breeze (but then talking with Joshua is always easy as he's one of the most laid-back actors I've ever met in daytime). This interview took place on a lunch break during an exclusive photo shoot for Digest. Here are a few tidbits that didn't make it into the feature:
- He has his own "man room" in the bustling Morrow household. "I have my 'office,' " chuckles Joshua. "It was the dining room, but how many times do people really use their dining room? So I confiscated it. That's where I am most for the time. I have my desk there and my giant flat-screen TV so I can watch my sports. I've also got my computer so I can watch my fantasy teams."
- He's a self-described clean freak. "I'm pretty much the one who picks up around the house and wants things tidy. We have a housekeeper, but I keep the house picked up. I clean the kitchen, that's my thing after dinner. I don't like things out of place."
- Yes, he and wife, Tobe want to add one more to their brood. "Without getting too graphic, she has some ideas on how to ensure that we have a girl. So we're going to try these old wives' tales and see what happens."
- No, he doesn't know how he'll handle a daughter. "I have many concerns about that. She's going to have to deal with guys like me in high school. You never want somebody to hurt your baby girl so it's going to be tough for me. All I have is little sisters so I know that when girls get to a certain age, they turn a little crazy. Boys are a lot more laid-back from 13 on so I'll be completely unprepared for a daughter."
