Y&R took scheming Amber to the extreme by airing her dirty designs on live TV, but it was ace fashion photographer and America's Next Top Model star Nigel Barker who sewed things up.
Y&R pulled off the guest gig with flair by incorporating the real expert into the fictional Extreme Catwalk to get snarky with Jill and Gloria. Where some soaps tout random celebrity walk-bys (Oh, look! It's the stars of Broadway's Mary Poppins and Tarzan inexplicably swinging by AMC!), Barker's presence actually made sense. His dry wit in pondering just "How glorious is Amber, really?" made her unfashionable fall all the more delicious.
Not that watching the porn purveyor get her comeuppance on-camera wasn't tasty on its own. Cane, Lily and Daniel all suffered embarrassment when their dirty laundry was aired, but viewers had to admit to vicious glee at the "Gotcha!" footage of Lily confronting Amber about the telltale mark on her breast. The Strangers By Night Webmistress whimpered she didn't send dirty pictures to Daniel, but by then, no one believed her.
And who didn't cackle just a little as victorious Amber's face fell and her crown was stripped thanks to a handy morality clause? Other shows should model their celebrity drive-bys after this one, because Nigel Barker handing scheming Amber the booby prize was the tops.
