Last year, Y&R star Judith Chapman (Gloria) glammed it up on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys. But this year, the actress was the one putting the spotlight on her colleagues as she tackled the role of interviewer for CBS.com!
"I'm so excited!" she exclaims. "Over the years, I've done several travel shows, which I've written, and interviewed politicians and artists and all kinds of people. Now I was on the red carpet to interview all the people who are nominated and those who are guests."
Fans who logged on to the official CBS Web site also saw Chapman reporting backstage. "I watched the whole show on the monitor, then interviewed all the winners as they came off the stage," she reports.
CBS.com couldn't have chosen a better host, considering Chapman's long daytime career. "I've done so many different soaps, so to see all the friends that I have worked with is always great fun," she enthuses.
Certainly, that was the case at the 2005 Emmys, when Chapman saw her former ATWT co-star, Don Hastings (Bob), at the Sony post-party. "I worked with him almost 30 years ago, and he said, 'Do you still have that disease that I diagnosed you with a million years ago?' " she recalls with a laugh. "It brought the house down."
"A chance to meet and greet is right up my alley," Chapman concludes. "I really couldn't be happier."
