Having the daytime Emmys in Los Angeles always gets mixed reviews among soap stars. Y&R's Jeanne Cooper (Katherine) confesses that if she had her druthers, the event would be back in the Big Apple. "It was always a perk going to New York," she laments. More than that, the showbiz vet says the three-hour time difference between the coasts sort of takes some of the panache out of the big event. "It's like dressing up and going to the movies in the middle of the afternoon," Cooper declares, noting that the glamor quotient simply looks odd in the harsh light of day. "You borrow millions of dollars' worth of jewels to go to the movies!"
