The best way to track down Tracey Bregman (Lauren, Y&R) is via her cell phone, because the daytime vet is always on the go. "I have tremendous energy," she smiles. The mother/actress/designer/bizwoman needs it!
6:00 a.m. Morning! I'm up because I have one son (Austin) on a field trip, but I have to get the other one (Landon) to school. Then I have to get myself together, because I am in town the entire day. When I leave Malibu, it's like packing an overnight bag. Everything is in my car, including an extra tank top, my book club book in case I have downtime and a list of everything I have to do.
9:15 a.m. I'm running late, unfortunately. I'm on PCH (the Pacific Coast Highway) on my way to the oral surgeon, because I had my wisdom teeth pulled last week. No swelling, but I've been in agony. Normally, I heal incredibly fast. When I had massive sinus surgery, they put me under general [anesthesia] Thursday at noon and I was dancing at (Don) Diamont's wedding on Saturday night. But these two wisdom teeth have taken me down!
10:05 a.m. I just picked up a briefcase I had made for my husband (Ron) to commemorate his new offices in Santa Monica. Now I'm having it wrapped and getting party favors for my stepdaughter's (Emily) graduation party. She just got her masters in speech pathology.
12:20 p.m. I'm a macrobiotic vegetarian, wheat-, soy- and gluten-free, and my husband's new office is across from Real Food Daily. I'm jumping up and down! I made him go there with me for lunch, but he's a meat-and-potatoes guy, so it was hilarious. After we ate, he was like, "I'm ready to go get an In-N-Out burger."
1:30 p.m. Hi, this is Tracey. I'm sorry I can't take your call, so after the beep, you know what to do.
3:00 p.m. I was in a business meeting when you called before. Now I'm at Neiman Marcus, returning a jacket. I was in Vegas and bought this suede coat, but when I got home it was the wrong size. I had Neiman Marcus send me the smaller size and it worked better, so I'm returning the larger one.
4:05 p.m. I'm on the way to Williams-Sonoma, because they sent a few wrong things for my husband's office, which I'm setting up with his partner's wife, Susan. I have huge boxes in my car and have to go through the whole list.
6:15 p.m. I'm at my best friend Sharyn Ross' house eating cherries. She's feeding me before my 7:30 dinner because I'm starving. A little trivia: Sharyn is a film editor and worked on Joshua Morrow's Lifetime movie (My Stepson, My Lover).
7:30 p.m. I'm almost to the Baldwin/Fisher Grifters' Dinner! Our onscreen family (Christian Le Blanc, Greg Rikaart, and Judith Chapman--Michael, Kevin, and Gloria) has dinner together every once in a while. You know the movie The Grifters? We're all bad, so that's what we call our night. Judith is hosting this one at Grace, a restaurant (in West Hollywood). Oh, God, there's a huge accident on Melrose--talk to you later!
9:00 p.m. Judith ordered a suckling pig--and an entire pig showed up at the table. As a vegetarian, I tried not to cry (laughs). She also had halibut for me, which was sensational. She's so lovely and wonderful, taking care of me because I'm such a crazy eater. It's wonderful how much I truly love these cast members and how much fun they are.
11:45 p.m. I'm on my way back to the beach. It won't take that long at this hour. The problem is there are no streetlights once you get to the beach and it's pitch black! Also, I realized I didn't have enough gas to get back. I'm such an idiot. I made Christian follow me to the gas station and stay with me while I got gas. It was so funny, because I was on one side of the pump and he was on the other. He's got a Prius, so he says, "I'll fill up for the month, too." He puts the pump in his car and it dings in two seconds. I said, "C'mon! You faked that." His grand total was $16. I wouldn't let him on my side to see mine. The other Grifters are Prius drivers, but I'd be afraid on PCH. I need a heavier car, but I'm going to get my older son (Austin) a hybrid.
12:15 a.m. Everyone's asleep. I'm going to bed, too. I have to get up at 6, because I have to take people to school and I have my first meeting at 9:15 in Burbank.
