Every time I sit down for a chat with Vincent Irizarry (David, Y&R), I'm always amazed by his youthful appearance. Aside from a few crinkles around the eyes, I swear he looks just like he did when he debuted on GL as Lujack over 20 years ago! Before meeting up with him for his interview, that appears in our new issue, I looked at his past Digest features through the years and amazingly, the guy always looks the same. So, I had to ask him, is he blessed with age-defying genes or does he have a decrepit portrait of himself hanging in some attic? "Well, first of all, thank you," he chuckles. "Yeah, it is genetic. Even my brother who's five years older than me looks great. I have my family traits to thank for that." And it looks like Vincent won't have to worry about hair loss either. "My grandfather on my mother's side was bald and people say you get your hair patterns from your mother's side, but that didn't happen to my brothers and me. That skipped us, but all of my cousins on my mother's side of the family went bald at a very young age. I suppose if that had happened to me, I'd be doing a lot more character parts [chuckles]. But my hair is really thick because I took after my father's side of the family. His father had thick, black hair [which] finally turned completely white by the time he reached 90. He looked very regal. So I guess I have that to look forward to."
