January 8, 2008 Soap Opera Weekly Buzz Peter Bergman (Jack) wasn't pleased when Y&R canned Eileen Davidson (Ashley, now on B&B) and he's being just as vocal about her short return. "It's so right on so many levels," he raves. "For Jack, it was wonderful. For Peter Bergman, it was terrific. Jack has volumes of history with this character. Remember: These two lost their mother, so they were more than just siblings, in terms of how they get through tough times." Reconnecting with Davidson was anything but a tough time. "From the moment I walked on-set, the scene was so rich, textured and full of history; a kind of shorthand," smiles Bergman. "What a mistake it is to not have her there. You'll see it. When you watch the show, you'll think, 'That's right. This used to be a source of great drama and family bonding.' This [Abbott] set used to be so much more." If Gloria gets her way, we might see a return to those famous Abbott breakfasts. Paging Mamie!
