Determined to win Sharon's heart, this week Brad tries to enlist the help of ... er, Phyllis?
"He's thinking there could be an unholy alliance there, because he and Phyllis have a mutual interest in Sharon and Jack not staying together," explains Don Diamont (Brad). "Sharon is not one of Phyllis' favorite people and she still cares about Jack. Brad figures, 'It's a shot.' "
Even though he was a key player in sending her to prison? "There's a lot of moral ambiguity when it comes to Phyllis," shrugs Diamont. "Brad doesn't have a lot of faith in being successful when he approaches her, but he's hoping that if she wants the same outcome as he does, she'll put her distaste for him aside to make it happen."
Not quite. "Phyllis shoots him down," sighs Diamont, adding that Brad is not giving up. "Brad believes he's the best thing for Sharon and their connection is genuine. They've been star-crossed--and Sharon deserves better than Jack."
That's not how she sees it when she meets up with Brad for lunch after a heart-to-heart with Nick. "Sharon's waffling," notes Diamont. "She shares her ambivalence over Jack and her level of disappointment in him, but even though she's lost a lot of respect for him, she's considering keeping her family together for Noah."
Brad is pretty jacked-up over that. "He tells her it's a mistake. While she cares for Jack and loves him, she's never been in love with him. She shouldn't base her decision about staying with him on Noah. A kid will sense when there isn't any love or trust in the relationship. It won't be be a healthy atmosphere for him," asserts Diamont.
Sharon puts a lid on the topic, but Brad makes inroads without even realizing it when a jealous Jack spies them together and assumes the worst.
