January 21, 2008 CBS Soaps In Depth Comedy Central Y&R's Adrienne Frantz admits that when it comes to her portrayal of the scheming Amber, she loves shaking things up a bit by adding humor to her scenes. "I started sneaking comedy into the show to see if they'd let me get away with it, and they really liked it. Then the writers started making things a little funnier, mixing it with the drama," she confesses. "Michael Graziadei (Daniel), Greg Rikaart (Kevin) and I are always joking around, saying we're like the Three Stooges or THREE'S COMPANY." Frantz credits a star of the silver screen for her desire to take a broader approach with acting. "I always thought that comedy and drama were two separate things. But then I saw an interview with Dustin Hoffman where he said there was no difference between comedy and drama... that if you look at life, funny things always happen. Even at a funeral, something could happen that will have people laughing for two seconds," she says. "There is drama in everything; there is comedy in everything. So I incorporated that into my acting. The only difficult thing is to make it look realistic."
