March 11, 2008 Soap Opera Digest Rowell Back To Y&R? Looks like Victoria Rowell, who originated the role of Drucilla on Y&R in 1990 and left last year when her character "died," could be returning to her former stomping grounds. "Before Christmas, there was a dialogue with the CBS brass regarding re-entry of Drucilla Winters," confirms the actress. Rowell, who quit to promote her book, The Women Who Raised Me: A Memoir, is ready to move back to Genoa City. "The ball is in the Y&R court," she explains. "I think it's important that the fans know that I'm open to coming back and now we're waiting for an answer. That's absolutely the case. We'll see what happens." A Y&R spokesperson says, "No comment" regarding Rowell's return. But a motivating factor for the No. 1 soap could be reports that OLTL recently had a chat with the actress. "All I can say is that I was in New York last week for several meetings," Rowell smiles. "So I'll leave it there. There were lots of rumors going around as to whether I'm coming back to daytime." Until then, she's staying busy. Aside from kicking off another book tour for The Women Who Raised Me, Rowell is already writing her next book called Secrets Of A Soap Opera Diva. But, despite the title, don't expect a dishy tell-all. "It's a novel, so it's a work of fiction," she teases. "It's sad and hilarious. People are already asking me, 'Is it you?' But I say, 'I'll let you decide.' It's just so juicy!"
