March 31, 2008 CBS Soaps In Depth The Name Game We always thought Neil was a pretty smart businessman... until he agreed to have Newman Enterprises advertise in Nick's new magazine... which at the time didn't even have a name. We may not love the way Victor's been handling his family of late, but he was right on the money in having Neil pull the ads. Meanwhile, we were surprised when Phyllis--upon learning Nick had purchased a warehouse in which to house their new venture--raised her eyebrows and commented on the rising price of real estate in the area. Apparently, Genoa City is the only place in the country not plagued with plunging property values due to the sub prime mortgage-rate disaster. Sure, it might have made more sense to rent or lease office space for their risky project, but given that Nick is the son of a bazillionaire who spent years working in a no-doubt high-paying exec position at Dad's company, we're gonna guess that he was able to buy the property in cash without flinching.
