Amber's Busted - By B&B's Brooke!
Cane gets a chilling report from B&B's Brooke this week on Y&R.
"When Daniel goes to a strip club and gets arrested, Amber bails him out," sets up Daniel Goddard (Cane). "It's somewhat noble."
As always, Amber's good deed does not go unpunished, because Cane catches her in the lie. "Amber and Cane cannot control their libidos, so they end up in the back of her car doing the wild monkey dance, and he happens to put his hand on the bail bond receipt," sighs Goddard. "It brings everything to a screeching halt - and not in a good way."
Amber can't bail herself out of this one. "There are too many conflicting stories," Goddard explains. "Cane doesn't want to believe there's treachery and betrayal going on, but he knows intrinsically that somethings off."
So Cane sets out to find the truth, starting with his grandmother. "He talks to Katherine, because she's friends with the Forresters and Amber worked with them," Goddard explains. "He tells her he wants to put together a 6-month anniversary tribute to Amber. Katherine says, 'I don't know what you're searching for, but you'll realize she's a bleach blonde throwback to Manson.' Then he goes to Lauren and she lets him know Brooke was Amber's boss."
Cane then calls L.A.-based fashion icon Brooke Forrester for answers.
"Brooke gets the phone call from him," previews KKL. "He's fishing to find out more about Amber, her ex-DIL, but he's very charming, honest and straightforward."
Brooke is as blunt about Amber as Katherine was, spilling the beans about Amber's rocky marriage to her son, Rick, and all the machinations that went with it. Her advice? 'Do not trust that woman!' " huffs KKL, who was enthusiastic about her Y&R crossover. "I've been over there before [as Brooke in 1998], and when I was 17 I did a summer role over there," she smiles. "It was fun going back."
It won't be fun for Amber when Cane goes back to her - with the truth.
Home Sweet Home for Nick: But Which One?
Nick checks out of the hospital - and Phyllis' life - this week on Y&R.
"Phyllis is bringing in photos and telling him stories, trying to do anything to trigger his memory," Joshua Morrow sets up.
"None of it means anything to him. It's an empty slate. But she's hoping he'll realize this is his life and want to get back into it in order to remember it."
Nothing rings any bells with Nick. "It would be like living with a stranger," asserts Morrow. "He can see how much it means to her and tries to be nice, but she is talking about someone else's life. He needs to go back to his comfort zone, which is not with her."
Since he can't go back to Sharon either, Nick moves to the only place he remembers calling home. "He goes back to the cottage, where Logan's going to help him get through this," JM relates. "It's not a romantic thing. Nobody else is who he remembers, so it feels like the only person he knows is Logan - and his son."
Nick realizes he can't go home. "All the best things that happened in his life happened in that house, and the memories hit him hard," JM previews. "No matter what's happened in the last two years, Nick loves his wife - who in his mind is still Sharon. It feels weird to be in this house and not with her."
Watching Sharon with her attentive new hubby Jack just makes things worse. "Nick's not visibly upset, but you can tell," JM concedes. "Sharon's treating him like they're exes and Jack's walking around the house, totally comfortable there. Without putting it into words, Jack is saying, 'Look, this is mine. Back off.' Nick feels like he's on Mars."
Calm on the outside, Nick's roiling inside. "He's like, 'This isn't right. I'm going to get Sharon back!' " JM reveals. "I'd always put my money on Nick. He's not necessarily the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's driven and when he goes after something he wants, he usually gets it."
But this time, the hurdle is formidable. "If the audience knows anything about Phyllis, they know she ain't going to just lie down," laughs Morrow.
