Just three months after the passing of Charles Nelson Reilly comes sad word of the death of Brett Somers, Reilly's cohort on game show The Match Game. Somers died of stomach and colon cancer at her home in Westport, Connecticut. She was 83.
Remembered, of course, for those classic quips on The Match Game, Somers began on Broadway, but accumulated a large list of guest star appearances on shows like Naked City, Ben Casey, The New Breed, Have Gun Will Travel, The Defenders, The Fugitive, Love, American Style, CHiPs, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Barney Miller, Battlestar Galactica, The Love Boat, and The Odd Couple, opposite husband Jack Klugman. Somers was also a regular on short-lived remake The New Perry Mason in 1973.
Married in 1953 to Jack Klugman, the pair separated in 1974, but never officially divorced.
