Victor and Sabrina's impending wedding leads the couple to seek out a best man and matron of honor this week. Not surprisingly, they consider Victoria, Nick and Adam. Joshua Morrow reflects on Nick's father's disappointing choice.
Weekly: Nick, Victoria and Phyllis have a discussion about how Victor has changed since Sabrina and Adam entered his life. What do they say?
Morrow: They all react to the changes in Victor's life and the effect they're having on him. Victor has basically gotten rid of his old family and gotten this newer model. Nick and Victoria are thrown for a loop. They don't know who Victor is anymore. It's difficult to accept your father replacing you. Nick and Victoria are struggling with it.
Weekly: Nick is really trying to hang tough?
Morrow: Nick is definitely playing the 'I've Moved On' and the 'I'm My Own Man' cards. But, as everybody knows, Nick has always harbored these issues with his father. Nick just wants to be accepted and respected by his dad.
Weekly: On that note, does Nick think Victor will ask him to be his best man?
Morrow: Nick expects him to, yes, even though he and his father have been having some problems.
Weekly: What's Nick's reaction when Victoria tells him she turned down Sabrina's request to be her matron of honor?
Morrow: Nick backs his sister on every decision she makes. He believes Victoria should be at the wedding, but doesn't think she should have to stand up for Sabrina.
Weekly: Later, Victor asks Adam to stand up for him, but Adam advises him to ask Nick, too. What happens?
Morrow: Before Victor can broach the subject of asking Nick to be his best man, Nick has a discussion with him about Victoria. Nick doesn't think his dad is giving enough merit to the way Victoria feels about him marrying Sabrina. Nick jabs Victor about that. He lets Victor know he doesn't approve of the way he's handling Victoria in the situation. Victor ends up changing his mind. He doesn't even let Nick know he was considering him as best man.
Weekly: Later, Victor tells Adam he'll be the only one standing up for him at the wedding. How will Nick take this?
Morrow: Nick should be Victor's best man, but he also knows their relationship is tenuous at best. Adam has come to town and assumed the role of Nick in every capacity. He's become Victor's right-hand man. When Nick finds out, he's not going to be surprised--but certainly will be hurt.
